Cheerleading is definitely a sport. Cheerleaders work as hard as any other players for any other team. Sport is defined as competitive physical activity: an individual or group competitive activity involving physical exertion or skill, governed by rules, and sometimes engaged in professionally. Cheerleading requires dedication, and hard work, and competition, this makes it a sport. Write why or why not you think cheerleading is considered a sport.

I believe that cheerleading is a sport for many reasons. The reasons are that they jump up in the air and they trust there spotters to catch them. Another reason is they do flips and if they land wrong that they can't really stop and they could fall on there face.

Hey Sarah! i have to agree that cheerleading is a sport. i have to sya this because you do alot of phisical activity, and injuries are frueguent and sometimes extremly bad.
I say cheerleading is a sport. There are contests for it and it deserves to be classified as a sport. There are dangers to. You could fall, get a concussion and be out for a season.

This is a very opininated subject but I do believe cheerleading is a sport. I do think though it is very close on the border line to being a sport because many parts of it seem not as hardworking as other sports. But all sports are different so i totally agree with your arguments on is cheerleading a sport! :)
After keyboarding, I must say i agree with you now Sarah. Cheerleading is a sport. It is a sport because it does take an athletic person to do and it takes a team to win competitions. :]
I would think cheerleading is a sport if they showed up to support all sports like soccer and bowling. Otherwise, the chearleaders just seem like another part of the football and basketball teams.
Cheer leading could be called a sport because everyone comes to watch and it looks kind of hard.
